Round One
The first round is a blind taste test. All the e-liquids will be tested by a standard atomiser and mod combination, set to the same conditions for each e-liquid.
Nicotine salt e-liquids will be tested by a standard MTL atomiser and mod combination, set to the same conditions for each e-liquid.
Each e-liquid will be tested by our judges blindly and scored out of 10. The e-liquid with the highest average points score from the judging panel will be put through in each category.
The judges will initially know the category that the e-liquid has been entered into but will have no more information than that.
Round Two
The second stage is the compliance stage. At this stage the judges will assess packaging to check for inappropriate branding or marketing (IP infringement, appealing to underage users, etc). Our panel of judges will determine the finalists in each category and the winners will be announced at our awards ceremony on Friday 23 October 2020.
CBD E-liquid Process
There are two sub-sections for entry and two awards will be presented on the night.
CBD e-liquids containing under 500mg and CBD e-liquids containing more than 500mg (per product).
Products entered into the Best CBD category must comply with the UK Home Office rules surrounding THC. More information on this can be viewed at this government factsheet.
Products entered must not be advertised as having medical benefits, unless authorised to do so by the MHRA.
Only finished products will be permitted to entry. Products missing labels may be rejected.
Third party lab certificates should be provided upon entry.
If a product is not deemed as acceptable, or fails to meet any of the above criteria, it may be rejected from the entry process.
